An Arizona man jailed on suspicion of robbing two Thousand Oaks banks was charged Tuesday in the holdup of a Moorpark grocery store last summer, authorities said.
The Ventura County district attorney’s office charged Michael Todd Lopez, 44, with robbing the Hughes Market of $200 in August.
Lopez was arrested shortly after two Thousand Oaks banks were robbed Jan. 6. Police said a packet of red dye exploded in Lopez’s hand immediately after a Wells Fargo Bank was robbed on Thousand Oaks Boulevard.
Ventura County sheriff’s investigators said Lopez matched the description of the Moorpark robber and was recently picked out of a lineup at the Los Angeles County Jail, where he has been held awaiting trial in federal court on the bank robbery charges.
