June Laura O’Connell, a longtime Port Hueneme resident, has died following a lengthy illness. She was 64.
Mrs. O’Connell, who died Monday at the Ventura County Medical Center, was a retired certified nurse’s aide whose career at the Heritage House, a Camarillo retirement home, spanned 20 years.
Born in Medford, Ma., she was a 30-year resident of the county.
Mrs. O’Connell is survived by a daughter, Cindy; two sons, Ray and John, and two sisters, Lynn Burr and Dorie Parkhurst.
She was also survived by brothers Bob and Myles Heaton; her former husband of 25 years, Raymond O’Connell, and four grandchildren.
A memorial service has been scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at All Saints Episcopal Church in Oxnard. Arrangements are being handled by Guardian Memorial Funeral Directors, Ventura.
In lieu of flowers, family members have asked that memorial donations be made to the Ventura County Chapter of the American Cancer Society, 1363 Del Norte Road, Camarillo 93010.
