Orange County Sheriff’s Department officials said Tuesday they will ask prosecutors to file additional charges against a Cub Scout leader who was arrested on suspicion of molesting an 11-year-old Dana Point boy.

Gary Lee Gephart, 39, of Oceanside, an assistant leader for Dana Point Cub Scout Pack 713, was arrested last Thursday after the boy told his parents he had been fondled by Gephart while the two shared a tent during a camping trip.

Sheriff’s officials said Tuesday that two 8-year-old boys have now alleged that Gephart molested them in the past four to six months.

Also, investigators have interviewed a 19-year-old Pomona man who accused Gephart of molesting him several times between 1989 and 1993, Sheriff’s Lt. Dan Martini said.

“We’re confident that we’ll be seeking other charges on this case,” Martini said.

Martini said investigators are also interviewing a 13-year-old South County boy to determine if he was also a victim. All of the boys had been Scouts under Gephart’s supervision, Martini said.

Gephart so far has been charged with three felony counts of child molestation. He remained in custody pending the posting of $250,000 bail.
