Actor Grant Charged With Lewd Conduct After Arrest
British actor Hugh Grant was charged Thursday with lewd conduct, two days after his arrest for allegedly having sex in his car with a Hollywood prostitute, officials said.
The 23-year-old woman faces the same charge and two additional counts of violating her probation on prostitution convictions, said Mike Qualls, a spokesman for the Los Angeles city attorney’s office.
The pair were arrested early Tuesday after police officers observed them engaging in oral sex in Grant’s white BMW near Sunset Boulevard, Qualls said.
They were booked on a misdemeanor charge and released shortly afterward. The charge carries a jail term of up to six months and a $1,000 fine.
They will be arraigned in Hollywood Municipal Court on July 18.
