Elementary Schoolteacher Arrested

SUNLAND — A Sunland Elementary School teacher has been arrested on suspicion of crimes against children after several students accused him of fondling them, police said Friday.
John Sampson Njoroge--known to his students as John Sampson--29, of Los Angeles, was arrested Thursday and released early Friday from the Foothill Station jail after posting $50,000 bail, Los Angeles Police Officer Don Cox said.
Njoroge is scheduled to be arraigned July 28.
Njoroge has taught at the school for five years, Detective William H. Dworin said.
“Several” students reported that Njoroge had touched them beneath their clothes, Dworin said. “The children who have come forward reported that Sampson has touched numerous other students over the past several years,” he added.
