Share

Two witnesses to a Westlake car crash pulled a 39-year-old man to safety early Friday after his car slammed into a tree and burst into flames, sheriff’s officials said.

Donald Case of Westlake Village was driving northbound on Westlake Boulevard about 4:30 a.m. Friday when he lost control of his car and struck a tree south of Agoura Road, investigators said.

He was ejected from the car moments before it caught fire, but was dragged from the scene by two men who heard the collision, officials said. Investigators could not identify the two men Friday.

Case was listed in critical condition at Westlake Medical Center. Although the accident is still under investigation, officials said alcohol and excessive speed appear to have been involved.
