L.A. Cellular Selects BellSouth Exec as New President

Los Angeles Cellular Telephone Co. announced that John H. Bonde has joined the company as president and that it has promoted David T. Stevens to executive vice president of operations. Bonde, who will be responsible for overall operation of the Cerritos-based company, was previously a regional vice president with Atlanta-based BellSouth. Most recently, Stevens was L.A. Cellular’s vice president of marketing and distribution.

Stanley M. Benson has joined Amgen Inc. as senior vice president, sales and marketing. He replaces Dennis M. Fenton, who was appointed senior vice president, operations earlier this year. Prior to joining the Thousand Oaks-based biotechnology company, Benson, 44, was vice president for business planning and development of Pfizer Inc.’s Hospital Products Group.

Trust Co. of the West announced the promotion of Kevin A. Hunter as managing director of its Equities/Convertibles division. Hunter, who joined the company in 1983, was previously a senior vice president. The Los Angeles-based company is a unit of TCW Group Inc.

Robert Tschudy, 46, has joined 20th Century Industries as senior vice president and chief financial officer. He succeeds Chuck Petit, who remains with the firm as vice president and chief actuary. Prior to joining the Woodland Hills insurance company, Tschudy was a partner in the Los Angeles office of Ernst & Young.
