Today is Independence Day, the 219th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. It is observed as a federal holiday.
* Closed: Today, government offices, courts, banks, post offices, stock and commodity exchanges, libraries and many businesses. SCAT buses and Metrolink trains won’t run.
* Trash: Regular Tuesday-Friday collection will be postponed one day.
