6-Year-Old Killed, Mother Hurt in Shooting at Balloon Shop
A man sprayed a South-Central Los Angeles balloon shop with gunfire, killing a 6-year-old boy and injuring his mother, Los Angeles police said Tuesday.
Daniel Raggette and his mother, Andrea Raggette, 31, were shopping in the store at 3:15 p.m. Monday when the gunman walked up to the storefront and began firing his handgun.
The boy was hit in the upper torso, and his mother was wounded in the hand. Both were taken to County-USC Medical Center, where the child died.
Police said they have no description of the gunman and no motive for the shooting.
