THOUSAND OAKS : Crime Task Force to Focus on Drug Sales

Share

The Thousand Oaks Crime Prevention Task Force will focus its next meeting on stopping drug sales to children on city streets and near school campuses.

“Our goal is to see what the community can do, what parents can do,” said Councilwoman Elois Zeanah, who chairs the task force. “We want to find out how we can break down that code of silence that teens have about drugs.”

Representatives from the district attorney’s office, the city attorney’s office, the Conejo Valley Unified School District, the city Housing Authority and park district will describe some preventive measures during the meeting.

Zeanah said she got the idea for the session from a concerned mother who called her several months ago.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. July 20 in the Thousand Oaks Police Department Community Room at the East Valley Sheriff’s Station, 2101 East Olsen Road.

Meetings of the task force are open to the public and residents are encouraged to participate.
