Obituaries : Pearl Marie Grandsen Warren; Nursery Owner

Share

Pearl Marie Grandsen Warren, who devoted her life to making flowers bloom at the Simi Valley nursery she owned for 30 years, has died. She was 74.

The cause was cancer, said her brother, Don Grandsen.

“She loved roses. She loved azaleas too,” Grandsen said. “The nursery wouldn’t have run without her.”

Mrs. Warren served many roles at the Grandsen Nursery she owned with her brother. Among the most important was watering and pruning the plants, Grandsen said. The nursery closed in 1988.

She leaves her brothers, Ted and Don Grandsen of Simi Valley; a sister, Betty Anderson of Simi Valley, and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday at Grace Brethren Church in Simi Valley. Reardon Simi Valley Mortuary is handling the arrangements.
