Shank’s Goal Lifts Bullfrogs Over Phoenix, 6-5

The Bullfrogs’ third-quarter goal was enough to beat the Phoenix Cobras, 6-5, in a Roller Hockey International game Tuesday at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix.

Daniel Shank, who had two goals, beat Phoenix goalie Hugo Hamelin with 10 minutes 31 seconds remaining in the third quarter for the game-clinching goal. Phoenix moved within one goal with a power-play marker with 8:56 left in the third quarter.

The Bullfrogs (11-0-1) broke a 3-3 tie after consecutive goals from Shank and Joe Cook midway through the second quarter.

Goalie Chris Gordon had 28 saves for the Bullfrogs, who play the Sacramento River Rats in Sacramento Thursday.
