SIMI VALLEY : Activist to Speak on Militia Movement

Activist and author Michael Novick will speak on “The Militia Movement: Racism, The Right, and Government Oppression” at the East County Sheriff’s Station on Tuesday.
Novick, who wrote the book “White Lies, White Power,” will speak about the importance of understanding militias’ roles in mass movements. He also will examine white supremacist links to sexism, as well as anti-Semitic, anti-environmental and anti-abortion movements.
The event, sponsored by the Simi-Conejo Chapter of the National Organization for Woman, will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the sheriff’s station, 2102 E. Olsen Road, Simi Valley. For more information, call 583-1213.
