Obituaries : * Richard Villapando Rodriguez; County Worker

Richard Villapando Rodriguez, a longtime Ventura County employee, has died at the age of 66.

The Port Hueneme resident, who died Wednesday, was a retired county maintenance worker. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded several medals, including the Purple Heart.

He is survived by his wife, Toni Rodriguez; two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Rodriguez and Mary Villagomez, both of Oxnard; four sons, Richard Rodriguez Jr. and Robert Rodriguez of Port Hueneme and Anthony Lee Rodriguez and Michael Allen Rodriguez of Oxnard; his mother and stepfather, Mary Rodriguez Medina and Refugio Medina of Oxnard; two sisters, Alice Castro of Ventura and Gloria Balderas of Ojai; and three brothers, Archie Rodriguez of Santa Paula, Gilbert Rodriguez of Whittier and Danny Rodriguez of Saticoy.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home in Ventura. A Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Santa Paula. Burial will follow at the Santa Paula Cemetery.
