Canoga Park : Police Identify Man Killed in Shootout
Los Angeles police on Friday identified an alleged robber killed last week during a shootout at a Canoga Park apartment as Jose Delgado Marchan.
Marchan, 24, of Canoga Park, was one of three robbers who police say fired through the window of an apartment inhabited by two men who apparently sold fake IDs, LAPD Detective Rick Swanston said. The two men fired back at their assailants, hitting and killing Marchan.
After the shootout, the two remaining robbers fled the scene as did the two residents from inside the apartment, Swanston said. All four men remain at large and are wanted for questioning by police.
Swanston said a motive for the attack appeared to be the hundreds of dollars and more than a dozen fake driver’s licenses and immigration cards discovered by police in the apartment.
