Rockwell Division Names Geday to Post; Stover Appointed VP by Morton Electronic

* Armando Geday has been appointed vice president and general manager of Rockwell’s Multimedia Communications division in Newport Beach. The division, previously known as the Modem Systems business, makes fax and data modem chip sets. Geday joined Rockwell in 1986 as a market research analyst. In 1988 he became product line manager, facsimile modems. He was named director, worldwide marketing in 1991 and has been business director of Modem Systems since 1993. Prior to joining Rockwell, Geday was product manager at Harris Semiconductor and applications/marketing manager at Meret Inc.

* Martha E. Stover has been appointed vice president, legal affairs and group counsel for Morton Electronic Materials in Tustin. She joined the parent company, Morton International Inc., in 1987 as an attorney for Morton Salt in Chicago. She was named group counsel for Morton Electronic in 1991.

* Phil Ressler, has joined Continuus Software Corp. in Irvine as vice president of marketing. He was formerly vice president of corporate marketing for Gupta Corp. John J. Laskey is the new vice president of finance and chief financial officer. He was previously vice president, controller and principal accounting officer for FileNet Corp. Alexander Hennequin has been named vice president of European operations. He had been vice president of European sales for Germany, Austria and Switzerland for Legent Corp.

* Gregory Frost has been appointed executive vice president and national production manager for Southland Financial Inc., a Fullerton mortgage banker. Frost merged his five-branch New Mexico origination network and added cash to make him Southland’s largest shareholder.

* Robin L. Platt has been named president and chief executive of Information Resource Service Co., a Fullerton on-line public records information service company. She is the former vice president and general manager for Prentice Hall Online, a unit of Simon & Schuster’s recently diversified Prentice Hall Legal and Financial Services. Platt assumes full responsibility for company operations. Jack H. Reed, founder and owner of Information Resource Service, remains as chairman, concentrating on strategic alliances and acquisitions.

* Jobe Dubbs has joined Morrison, Lee & Stevens, an Irvine advertising and public relations agency, as public relations specialist. Dubbs was previously with Century 21 Real Estate Corp. in Irvine, where he assisted in the administration of the company’s national public relations programs.

* Jerry L. Mendelson has been named senior vice president of Brakke-Schafnitz, an insurance broker. He previously spent five years with Anderson & Anderson. Before that, Mendelson was founder and chief executive of J.L.M. Marketing and Incentive Co.

* P. Jean Baker has been appointed to the panel of mediators for the Bankruptcy Mediation Program of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. She is director of regional development for the Orange County office of the American Arbitration Assn.

* Dr. Gwyn P. Parry has been appointed the first director of community medicine for Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian in Newport Beach. He has been a family practitioner on Hoag’s medical staff for 30 years.
