Ceradyne Inc.: The Costa Mesa manufacturer of technical ceramics posted net income of $452,000, or 7 cents a share, for the second quarter, contrasted with a net loss of $558,000, or 9 cents a share, for the comparable period last year. Sales increased 38% to $5.8 million from $4.2 million. Profit for the first half totaled $803,000, or 13 cents a share, contrasted with a year-earlier net loss of $747,000, or 12 cents a share, for the first six months of 1994. Sales rose 28% to $11.1 million from $8.7 million.
