OXNARD : Committee to Design School Uniform OKd

Trustees at the Oxnard elementary school district will allow one of its schools to form a committee to design a schoolwide uniform.
The board of the Oxnard School District voted unanimously Wednesday to allow a parent, teacher and student task force to design a school uniform for Emilie Ritchen School that may be mandatory as early as January.
Principal Ernie Morrison submitted the request to the board about a month ago after 80% of the 523 parents at the school said in a survey that they favored uniforms.
Once the task force comes up with a style and color for the uniform, Morrison will need a final approval from the board.
