And then there were five.
George Gaytan, the one member of the La Puente City Council who had not been targeted for recall, got his recall notice at Tuesday night’s council session.
“Mr. Gaytan got appointed to fill the seat left by the death of Charlie Storing. We want an election,” said George Henley, a member of the recall group Skunk Busters for Better Government.
Alexander Casias, leader of Skunk Busters, charged that Gaytan sides with business over homeowners, and has harassed residents of a neighborhood near his family food manufacturing business.
All nonsense, said Dolores St. Germain, Gaytan’s campaign manager. “He’s pro-business,” she said. “Business makes La Puente a better place for all the residents.”
Skunk Busters is also seeking to oust Councilmen Joe V. Alderete, Louis Perez and Edward L. Chavez.
