AST Research Inc.: Samsung Electronics Co. said Monday it has completed a $378-million investment in the Irvine computer company. Samsung, a Seoul, South Korea, maker of semiconductors, now owns about 40%, or 17.9 million shares, of AST Research common stock, including 5.82 million through a $22-a-share tender offer.
