Two robbers handcuffed a Downtown Los Angeles jewelry store employee Wednesday and got away with about $15,000 in cash and $80,000 in jewelry, a Los Angeles Police Department lieutenant said.
The robbery occurred about 7 p.m., when two men armed with AK-47 assault rifles entered the West Coast Jewelry Center on the seventh floor of a jewelry mall in the 600 block of South Broadway, said Lt. Kevin Williams.
The men remain at large, he said.
The worker, whose name was not released, was taken to the Hospital of the Good Samaritan, authorities said. His condition was not immediately known, Wells said.
