Central Los Angeles : ON THE MARKET
Fire Station 52 in South Gate is for sale again.
City officials are asking $132,000 for the long-vacant station on State Street near Firestone Boulevard.
St. Francis Medical Center in January had offered to buy the building for $80,000, but some council members said that was too low. An appraisal of the property is pending.
At one time, some council members had suggested converting the station into a youth center, but that idea was scrapped.
“The majority of the council would like to see the property generate revenues,” Mayor Albert Robles said.
