VENTURA : Hearing Delayed for Juvenile Hall Guard
A Ventura Juvenile Hall guard appeared in court Wednesday to answer a charge that she beat a 16-year-old inmate two months ago.
Patricia Sharpe, 46, of Oxnard did not enter a plea at her arraignment, which was continued to Aug. 15. Sharpe is accused of hitting the inmate in the face June 22.
The girl, identified only as Rena L., did not require hospitalization. Prosecutors declined further comment on the case.
Sharpe is a four-year employee of the Corrections Services Agency. The felony assault charge carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison.
