The Stephen Petronio Company of New York will replace Grupo Corpo: Brazilian Dance Theater in Irvine Barclay Theatre’s 1995-96 Feet First Contemporary Dance Series. Funding cutbacks by the Brazilian government have forced Grupo Corpo to cancel its North American tour, according to IBT officials. Petronio’s troupe will perform on May 9. The rest of the series--performances by Compagnie Maguy Marin of France, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and the Paul Taylor Dance Company of New York--remains unchanged.
