Mattel Sells Corgi Collectibles: El Segundo-based Mattel Inc. said it sold its Corgi collectible model vehicle business for about $20 million to Corgi Classics Ltd., a new British-based company headed by former Mattel Vice President Chris Guest. Corgi Classics will market collectible model vehicles under the Corgi name to adults, while Mattel will continue to sell former Corgi toy products within its top-selling Hot Wheels toy vehicle business. The purchase by Corgi Classics was backed by CINVen, a British-based venture capital company.
