Divisive Labels

* I’m confused. I read the papers, listen to the radio, watch TV and they all label people as Afro-Americans, Latinos, Asian Americans. Why do they stop with these? If we are to truly identify each other, what’s wrong with identifying Polish Americans, Irish Americans, Hindu Americans, Eskimo Americans? But why stop there? How about Catholic Americans, Jewish Americans, Latter-Day-Saint Americans, the Indians, the American Americans and all the others.
What I’m puzzled about is, unless we know who came from where, how do we know whom to hate?
