Panorama City : Progress L.A. Meeting Draws Light Turnout

Share

It was only their second meeting, but organizers had hoped for a better turnout Tuesday at the Panorama City Business Neighborhood Partnership’s gathering in the Panorama Mall.

The Panorama City business group formed a month ago to provide a forum for merchants, homeowners and residents to collect information on government programs, resources and nonprofit services available to them, according to Leslie Yamashita, director of the Panorama City West Neighborhood Assn.

But just a handful of merchants showed up to learn about Progress L.A., a grass-roots organization trying to reform the city’s cumbersome development and permitting system.

Progress L.A. Manager Deborah R. Mack spoke to the small group about her organization, which serves as a resource and referral agency that reports to the City Council on how the city’s building and permit processes can be streamlined.

She urged anyone with questions or comments to call Progress L.A. at (213) 244-2590.
