Abstaining Is Only Part of the Solution

I found the article “A Secret Life” (July 18) a sensationalized account of a man who sexually abused women. I looked in vain for any indication of what he was doing to make amends to those he wronged.

His resolution to abstain from sex is commendable, but it is only a part of his recovery. Many young people’s lives were changed because of his addiction. People will live in a world of mistrust because of his betrayal of their trust. What he is doing to atone for his behavior would be useful as a model to others.
