ROLLER HOCKEY PLAYOFFS : San Jose Ends Bullfrogs’ Season

Ken Colbourne scored a power-play goal with 41 seconds left in the 12-minute mini-game to give the San Jose Rhinos a 2-1 victory over the Bullfrogs in the Roller Hockey International Western Conference final Saturday before 10,182 at The Pond of Anaheim.

San Jose advances to the RHI championship series starting Tuesday against St. Louis or Montreal.

The Bullfrogs forced the mini-game with a 9-4 victory in the regular game.

San Jose had won the first game of the series, 11-4, Thursday in San Jose.

San Jose went a man up with 1:30 left in the mini-game when the Bullfrogs’ Victor Gervais was called for slashing.

Jay Murphy gave the Rhinos the lead with eight minutes left in the mini-game, but the Bullfrogs’ Daniel Shank scored about two minutes later to tie it.

Shank had three goals and Darren Perkins added two for the Bullfrogs in the regulation game.
