Charges Filed in Fatal Beating of Boy, 16, at Raging Waters

Prosecutors filed an involuntary manslaughter charge Tuesday against a Fontana teen-ager accused of beating another boy to death at Raging Waters amusement park in San Dimas last week.

Deputy Dist. Atty. Richard Sullivan said the 17-year-old will be arraigned today in Pomona Juvenile Court. Prosecutors will seek to have the boy tried as an adult, he said.

Robert Livingston, 16, of West Covina, died Sunday at Pomona Valley Medical Center. He never regained consciousness after the Friday night attack, in which he was punched until he began to have seizures and fell into a coma.

Raging Waters officials said Monday that this was first such incident in the park’s 12-year history, and its security guards were at the beating scene in seconds. But an attorney for Livingston’s family, Charles Frisco Jr., said a park security guard stood nearby while the incident went on for two to three minutes.
