OXNARD : Police Hold 7 After Sweep of Gang Sites

As part of an ongoing series of raids, the Oxnard Police Department and several other local law enforcement agencies arrested four adults and a juvenile and detained two juvenile suspects Tuesday morning in a sweep of known gang members’ residences, police said.

Law enforcement officials from six local agencies participated in the early morning raid of 15 residences throughout Oxnard, a spokesman for the Oxnard Police Department said.

During their sweep, police confiscated about 32 grams of methamphetamine, a .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol, a .25-caliber semiautomatic handgun and ammunition.

Arrested in the raid were Ricardo Flores, 18, on suspicion of violating his probation and carrying a dangerous weapon; Valerie Rose Fernandez, 19, on an outstanding warrant; Theresa Frenes, 22, on outstanding felony warrants, and Bartolo Gonzales, 21, on outstanding warrants and suspicion of possessing controlled substances for sale. Gonzales was also arrested on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine for sale and possession of firearms.

Police also arrested one juvenile on suspicion of being under the influence of controlled substances. Two other juveniles were held for possible probation violations.

All were from Oxnard.
