Japan’s Auto Exports to U.S. Post Record Drop: Exports of cars, trucks and buses to the United States fell 46% in July from a year ago, the largest monthly drop in postwar history, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Assn. said. The association reported that Japan’s overall auto exports fell 29% in July from the same month last year to 286,866 units, marking the seventh consecutive monthly decline. Exports to the United States declined for the third straight month. The record decline surpassed the previous record drop of 41% set in March, 1975, a spokesman said.
