SAN CLEMENTE : City’s Newsletter Gets a Make-Over

Share

To improve communications with the public, City Hall has revamped the newsletter that it sends to residents.

“We want to increase the quantity and quality of information that gets out,” said Carol Bonner, a city staffer who is managing editor of the newsletter. “This has been a weak spot in this city, and we could do much better.”

Starting Saturday, the bi-monthly newsletter, delivered with the South Coast Shopper to save postage costs, will highlight upcoming City Council meetings as well as ongoing city projects.

The newsletter replaces the report that was included in the city’s quarterly recreation magazine. Residents should receive the newsletter in the mail by Tuesday, Bonner said.

The newsletter is the first of several programs to improve communications, Bonner said. Starting in November, the city will begin a neighborhood forum at which officials will meet with neighborhood associations to build consensus and answer questions, Bonner said.
