Speaker Doris Allen

Doris, Doris, Doris, you are truly clueless. Do you really expect California Republicans to believe that you are not influenced by (former Speaker) Willie Brown (Aug. 23)? Could you possibly think that we believe the words you spout for the media, but disbelieve your actions in the Assembly?

Your vicious political reprisals against your fellow Republicans prove that you are not a member of our party. We, California Republicans, are their constituents. We elected them. You are insulting us when you vent your petty anger on Curt Pringle (Garden Grove), Jim Brulte (Rancho Cucamonga), Marilyn Brewer (Irvine) and countless other Republican members of the Assembly. You are no longer representing us in your private agenda. Stop your dishonest denials and step down as Assembly Speaker with what little dignity you have left.

* Instead of Michael Huffington running for political office again, he should run for “the town crier.” Now he is putting up money to boot Speaker Doris Allen (R-Cypress) out of her elected seat (Aug. 18). He states, “We want a real Republican in that seat.” Well, I would like “real” politicians in office, but so far, the majority are crying little 5-year-olds who don’t get their way.

Aside from the allegations on Allen, I have to wonder if this isn’t a ploy to remove her from her presiding post because she is a woman. Let’s face it, a very small percentage of women hold a high office, and when they do, they are subject to extreme scrutiny and men with large magnifying glasses combing every inch of their agenda. If we did what Huffington and his gang are doing to Allen to every politician in Washington, it would be a ghost town.
