Xircom Touts Its Role in Debut of Windows 95

Xircom Inc., a Newbury Park producer of computer network systems, says it played a major role in the unveiling of Microsoft Corp.’s widely publicized Windows 95 software system.

Microsoft used Xircom’s wireless local networking adapters, called CreditCard Netwave, in demonstrating Windows 95 in Denver and Salt Lake City, according to the local company.

In Los Angeles, Microsoft used 200 Xircom adapters to connect computers equipped with the new Windows product.

Xircom says that users of portable personal computers equipped with its adapters and Windows 95 will be able to establish network connections faster and more easily than in the past.
