Kmart Reorganizes Into 7 Regions: The Troy, Mich.-based retailer said it is reorganizing its 2,225 stores as of Sept. 12 to improve customer service and day-to-day operations. Kmart Corp. currently divides its operations into four regions. Kmart said the regional vice presidents will continue to report to Paul Hueber, senior vice president, sales and operations. With the restructuring, Kmart’s store operations will include 30 regional managers, 176 district managers and 2,225 store managers nationwide. About 12 Kmart store managers will report to each district manager.
