SIMI VALLEY : Wright to Launch Reelection Campaign
State Sen. Cathie Wright (R-Simi Valley) will officially announce her candidacy for reelection at a reception in Simi Valley on Friday.
Wright, who lost a bid for lieutenant governor last November, is seeking her second term in a district that stretches from Simi Valley to Port Hueneme. It also includes portions of the western San Fernando Valley.
So far, no Republican challengers have stepped forward to oppose Wright in the March, 1996, election. No Democratic candidates have emerged, either.
Wright will launch her campaign at a 5 p.m. reception at the Radisson Hotel hosted by a group of her supporters known as the “Wright Round-Table,” said John Theiss, a Wright assistant.
