Checkpointless

* I am deeply concerned about the expansion of the checkpoints at the borders of San Diego County and Orange County and San Diego County and Riverside County, which should not be there in the first place.

They inconvenience thousands of drivers each day and caused directly or indirectly close to 90 fatalities and even more accidents in the last 10 years. The cost to us does not warrant this situation any longer. The benefits of capturing illegal [immigrants] and drugs will not change much since most arrests are based on anonymous tips anyway. Besides, there are several alternate routes to circumvent stations on Interstate 5 and Interstate 15.

We have enough federal government without having to encounter it on the freeway. Let’s put the Border Patrol where it belongs, on the international border, and if they cannot do their job there, it should not become a California problem and expense.
