HUNTINGTON BEACH : Beach Improvement District to Be Discussed
- Share via
Residents are invited to discuss parks and beach improvements, and whether they would be willing to establish a district to finance them.
The city doesn’t have the money to pay for park and beach improvements due to reduced funds from development fees and state and federal grants, city officials said. As a result, a citywide Park and Beach Improvement District is being proposed today at a meeting of the Community Services Commission.
Projects that have been proposed but do not have funding include the City South Beach Master Plan to add bike and pedestrian trails, restrooms and parking lots to the south beach area; and a Youth Sports facility and aquatics complex at Huntington Central Park.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall. Those who cannot attend may send comments to Deputy Community Services Director Jim B. Engle, Community Services Department, 2000 Main St., Huntington Beach, CA 92648.
Information: Engle or Community Services Director Ron Hagan at (714) 536-5486.
