Western Digital Picks Emery for Personal Storage Materials Post

* Peter H. Emery has been appointed vice president of materials for Western Digital Corp.’s Personal Storage group. He joined Irvine-based Western Digital from Norand Corp., where he was director of manufacturing operations. Before that, Emery was with Motorola Information Systems from 1988 to 1991, first as senior corporate director of new product introduction and later as senior corporate director of supply management.

* Nickolas W. Vande Steeg has been named a corporate vice president of Cleveland-based Parker Hannifin Corp. He continues as president of the Parker Seal Group in Irvine, a post he has held since 1986.

* Richard Lueders has been selected director of service for Hyundai Motor America in Fountain Valley. He will oversee the company’s technical support and training departments, product engineering and consumer affairs. Lueders was previously national support manager at Nissan Motor Corp.

* Phil Hannes has joined the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau as manager of tourism development. He had been director of sales at the Holiday Inn-Buena Park. In addition, Colleen Cornett has been named convention housing director. She succeeds Nan Parson, who retired after 30 years with the bureau. Cornett, a 19-year veteran, was appointed convention housing manager in 1980.

* Dee Wells has been named a regional manager for Merit Property Management Inc. in Mission Viejo. Wells, who has been with the company since 1990, was previously an account executive.

* Kathryn Busch and Pam Conboy, both vice presidents and regional managers, have been assigned to manage 47 Orange County branches for Wells Fargo Bank. Conboy will direct 26 branches in central and northern Orange County, and Busch will oversee the 21 South County branches. Busch joined Wells Fargo in 1989 as a branch manager and was made a vice president in 1992. Conboy joined the bank in 1979 as a personal banking officer in the El Monte branch. She was named vice president in 1989 and regional manager in 1992.
