Countywide : IDs Available for Alzheimer’s Victims

People who suffer from Alzheimer’s disease can receive special bracelets today designed to help authorities identify them if they get lost.
The Alzheimer’s Assn. of Orange County will offer Safe Return bracelets and other forms of identification at seven locations around the county.
People with Alzheimer’s and other ailments that cause memory loss can become disoriented and wander away from home.
For $25, individuals will receive an identification bracelet or necklace as well as wallet cards. They will also be registered in a national database that can help police reunite Alzheimer’s sufferers with their families.
Registration is from 1 to 8 p.m. at the following locations: Buena Vista Care Center, 1140 S. Euclid St. in Anaheim; Artesia Gardens, 6041 Kingman Ave. in Buena Park; Manor Care Nursing Home, 11680 Warner Ave. in Fountain Valley; La Veranda, 312 Roosevelt St. in Fullerton; Fullerton Guest Home, 1510 Commonwealth Ave. in Fullerton; Alzheimer’s Assn. of Orange County office, 24300 El Toro Road in Laguna Hills, and Sunflower Gardens, 3730 S. Greenville St. in Santa Ana.
