The political action committee of the Ventura Chamber of Commerce has endorsed three candidates for the upcoming City Council election.

Chamber President James Friedman, college administrator Ray Di Guilio and incumbent Jack Tingstrom were selected by the committee as the preferred candidates to fill three open seats on the Nov. 7 ballot.

Committee Chairman and chamber President-elect John Walters said the candidates were chosen for their support of the free enterprise system, their beliefs in fiscally responsible government, and their interests in the private and public sectors of the economy.

“We felt they best represented the three criteria,” Walters said.

The three candidates will be introduced to the chamber’s 450 members at a noon luncheon today at the Colony Harbortown Marina Resort.
