AST Continues Management Shuffle: The Irvine-based computer manufacturer said Kirby Coryell, head of worldwide manufacturing operations, has resigned. Coryell, 45, is taking a position as vice president of manufacturing for NEC Corp. in Mountain View, Calif. He will be replaced by Gary Weaver, who for the past year has supervised AST’s manufacturing plant in Ft. Worth. AST Research Inc. also said that Bob Parmelee, manager of the company’s supply chain, will now also oversee AST’s service and support group. The changes come a week after AST announced the resignation of three top executives, including President James Schraith, and disclosed that it expects to lose more than $40 million in the upcoming quarter.
