Litton Industries Inc., a Woodland Hills defense electronics concern, has agreed to acquire the inertial systems unit of Hughes Electronics Corp.’s Delco Systems. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The inertial systems unit, with operations in Goleta, Calif., and Milwaukee, has about 300 employees and about $70 million in annual sales. The unit maintains, repairs and upgrades aircraft avionics systems for commercial and military customers worldwide, produces avionics systems for the U.S. Air Force and makes spacecraft guidance systems.
Litton said the acquisition would add to its existing military and commercial navigation, guidance and control systems business.
The transaction is subject to review by government regulators and the negotiation of a definitive agreement.
