OJAI : Homeless Shelter Seeks Volunteers
The Ojai Valley Family Shelter is holding an information session Saturday for volunteers interested in helping staff its winter emergency program for the homeless. The program rotates among seven churches in the Ojai Valley.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Ojai on Grand Avenue.
Volunteers will help prepare and serve about 4,000 meals to the shelter’s anticipated 2,000 guests during the winter months.
One volunteer, Harold Nufer of Ojai, has agreed to serve as shelter administrator. The shelter opens for business Nov. 15. For more information, call 646-3603.
