James Irvine Garden, 244 S. San Pedro St.
* This restful, 8,500-square-foot garden, located at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center, is also called Seiryu-En (Garden of the Clear Stream). Named after its major benefactor, the founder of Irvine Ranch, the garden has a stream that winds through flowers, bamboo and trees. Open daily.
