Two men in matching outfits robbed a bank at gunpoint Thursday morning, escaping with nearly $8,000, police said. The holdup occurred at 10:51 a.m., when two men walked through the back door of El Dorado Bank in the 16900 block of Bolsa Chica Street.

One of the men approached the bank counter and said, “Give us all the stuff,” and two clerks emptied their cash drawers of about $7,900, Sgt. Barry Case said.

That robber was described as a white man in his 20s, 6 feet tall and with a medium build. He was wearing black sunglasses, a gray hooded sweat shirt that had blue horizontal stripes, dark shorts, light socks and black sneakers. He brandished a blue-steel handgun.

After the robbery, the two men crawled through a hole in the fence east of the office and shopping complex into a field, where they escaped in a waiting teal-green Honda, Case said.
