Jan Rubinstein; Activist Against Spousal Abuse

Jan Rubinstein, 35, Loyola Law School graduate and activist in the fight against spousal abuse. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the UCLA Faculty Center for Rubinstein, who had lived on Guam for 12 years. After she won a divorce case, her client’s ex-husband followed the client from the courthouse in Agana, Guam, and allegedly shot her to death. The man has been arrested and charged with murder. Rubinstein attended Los Angeles’ Westlake School for Girls, Palisades High School and UC Santa Cruz. On Guam she specialized in criminal defense and family law and won recognition as a champion for women seeking escape from abusive relationships. On Aug. 26 on Guam.
