Administrator Plans Office Reorganization

Share

In another belt-tightening move, Ventura County chief administrator Lin Koester is proposing a reorganization of his office that will include elimination of one position.

Koester’s plan calls for dropping the position of assistant chief administrator, which has been vacant since Robert Hirtensteiner retired in May. This would result in an annual savings of more than $100,000.

The proposal would also reassign responsibilities for transportation and housing issues from the chief administrator’s office to the personnel and planning departments.

Finally, Koester’s plan would change the titles of three deputy managers in his office. Budget manager Bert Bigler would be given the title of chief deputy administrative officer, and managers Peggy Bohannon and Marty Robinson would be classified as deputy administrative officers.

The Board of Supervisors will consider approving Koester’s proposal at its meeting Tuesday.
