Central Los Angeles : Latino Baseball Stars Tour Eastside Schools
Thousands of youngsters packed the Nimitz Junior High School auditorium in Huntington Park to greet three Latino baseball legends and listen to their words of wisdom.
Retired players Elias Sosa of the Dodgers, Juan Marichal of the San Francisco Giants and Tony Perez of the Cincinnati Reds stopped at Nimitz as part of the “Fiesta de Beisbol” program, which rounded up nine retired major league players for a tour of 12 schools in the Eastside on Friday. The program culminates today with a festival in Belvedere Park.
